Margaret Hermant is a violinist, harpist and composer based in Brussels, who graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She is a founding member of several music groups, including Echo Collective, Quatuor MP4, and BOW quintet.
Her collaborations with these ensembles have involved working with a variety of renowned artists, such as Jóhann Jóhannsson, Adam Wiltzie, Dustin O’Halloran, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Stars of the Lid, Joep Beving, Christina Vantzou, and Rutger Hoedemaekers.

In 2021, Margaret made her mark on the classical music landscape with her debut track, “Under,” released under the prestigious label Deutsche Grammophon as part of the “Project XI” compilation. The following year, she composed the track “Lightwell” for Mari Samuelson’s album “Lys”. In 2023, she unveiled her first full-fledged soundtrack, marking yet another milestone in her burgeoning career. Her recent work as film composer includes projects like ‘Touché’ and ’72h,’ both documentaries set to be released in 2024′.
Interprete and co-writter is part of her artistic life. She has contributed to the film industry as a musician, playing harp and violin in several movies, including « Lion » ( Garth Davis), « No Man’s Land » ( Oded Ruskin), “The princess” (Ed Perkins), “Entrapped” (baltasar kormákur) « Le Fidèle » (Michaël R. Roskam) , « Bitters Flowers » ( Olivier Meys), « The Water Man » ( David Oleyowo).
